Travel Log
We started with a small breakfast at the lake house hotel which was small pieces of bread and coffee. Not good enough to last us 40mi to next town but have no choice so we supplement with some honey stinger waffles. Luckily the way is mostly flat. On our way, we meet another kiwi, Nigel who has done 7 tours of Japan!

Make it to the town of Tomamae where we have ramen with tonkotsu and thick pork belly. Stop at first campground on our way, but decide to go another 20mi to next one since we have energy. As we leave the town of Haboro, we stumble on a children’s parade festival. We manage to translate that it’s some celebration around their family flags. It was so fun to watch!

For dinner, we stop by another Seicomart to stock up on food just in case there is nothing at camp. Good thing we did because everything was closed when we got there.

The campground was right next to the water and beautiful lighthouse. There was a dad with his two kids also camping there who had so much energy. Once we got our tent set up they came right up to it and went inside and jumped around, but before they did that they took off their shoes! How polite.
