FOOD
Mostly lavender flavored foods at the farms. Seicomart for dinner.
LODGING
Because of our earlier delays, we had to move our hotels dates around. We checked out of one hotel and into another one but still in Asahikawa.
ROUTE
Some local roads to get to the flower fields mostly to avoid the large tour buses on the main roads. Ended up getting a bit lost and onto gravel roads but found our way eventually. We took the train back into town which meant we had to bring our Rinko bags and tools to put our bikes in the bags.
Travel Log
Start by switching hotels. It’s sort of a rest day today to just go and ride to the flower fields without our gear. Should be pretty chill as the flower fields are 35mi away and we are going to take the train back.

Some beautiful local roads but we soon hit gravel. Chunks of loose gravel and an 8% grade on a road bike is not for me…or people with bad ankles. We get a bit lost taking local roads but eventually find our way back. We stop by a couple flower fields on the way.

We eat lots of lavender flavored food. I personally love lavender even though it reminds me of old people.

At some point the temperature drops so we rush into a bakery to warm up with some pastries. We have one last field to see, Tomita Farms. And when we get there, wow, it’s huge. Much more Disneyland-like than the other farms. So many tourists but it is beautiful.

The best thing I had there was the lavender/melon swirl ice cream. I still dream about it.

Have food and rush to train to put our bikes in the rinko bags. Make it back to the city at 7:15 which is too late for a real dinner so we just get Seicomart and sleep.
